For more than 35 years, the mission of Atwater Area Help for Seniors has remained the same as it was when the program began in 1988: to support elders and their caregivers in Atwater and the surrounding townships, so seniors may stay in their home and in their community as long as safely possible.

In 2025, 320 people were served by 110 volunteers. Volunteers provided 7,160 hours of service, including 2,944 in-person & phone visits and 152 chore services; and drove 27,578 miles to transport seniors, provide services, and make deliveries, including 1,447 hot noon meals. Additionally, 361 congregate dining meals were served; and 39 people utilized medical equipment from our free loan program.

About 100 people attended the AAHFS 2025 Wellness Expo & Flu Shot Clinic and visited with more than 30 exhibitors from a variety of services focused on seniors. For more highlights from the expo and a complete list of vendors, visit our Events page.
