Equipment Loans

New and donated used equipment and independent living aids available for all age groups to loan for as long as needed, including canes, walkers with or without a seat, wheelchairs, crutches, shower chairs, grabbers, magnifiers and more. Items are regularly cleaned and maintained for safety.

Wheelchairs are also available for short-term use, such as to attend ballgames and events, go shopping, or spend time outdoors.

"I am so grateful for the smaller wheelchair that AAHFS found for me to use after I had back surgery. It allowed me to navigate my very small house and enabled me to attend church and go out to eat with relatives—I could not have walked those distances with my walker. You provide such a valuable service for which I am very thankful! It has improved the quality of my life." - AAHFS Client

Seniors' Computer Corner

Our office provides a computer room with printer to be used by older adults. If you are a beginner, we can help you with the basics, such as setting up an email account or how to research topics of interest.

Please call us to arrange a time.

Aging Eyes Initiative

Our staff and several volunteers are trained to help provide free assistive equipment to seniors with low vision. Equipment includes lighted and pocket magnifiers, large-print items, indoor and outdoor sunglasses, and much more.

Schedule a time to look through the equipment and see what might be helpful for you. To learn more about the State of Minnesota Aging Eyes Initiative, click here to download the program flyer.
