Volunteers are the backbone of our program, providing necessary supports to our older neighbors, enabling them to remain in their homes and community as long as possible. Volunteers can choose to be involved on a regular or as-needed basis. During the application process, volunteers are asked to note areas of interest, experience, and abilities.
Background checks are conducted on all volunteers, and training and ongoing supports are provided throughout the year. Training topics have included CPR & AED usage basics; recognizing & responding to diabetic shock and stroke symptoms; helping people with dementia; improving resiliency; hospice care; and home decluttering solutions, among others.
